ABOUT WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY & ITS FUNDING
Excessive weight can have serious physiological, psychological and social consequences - and potentially result in life threatening outcomes if intervention is not undertaken.
Lifestyle modifications that help to reduce body weight include dietary changes, physical activity and behavioural changes. If these strategies have been pursued unsuccessfully, then weight loss surgery does offer an alternative.
Weight loss surgery, however, comes at a cost which can present its own form of stressful and insurmountable barrier for some Patients.
Identifying this issue a decade ago - SuperCare created an innovative solution to support Patients in their pursuit of better health, through accessing their Superannuation funds to pay for required weight loss surgery.
Weight loss surgeries that can be paid for using your Superannuation include:
There are two types of weight gain associated with obesity:
SuperCare, an Australian owned company, was established in 2013 to help eliminate the stress associated with paying for expensive, yet essential, medical treatments. SuperCare alleviates this stress by streamlining the Compassionate Release of Superannuation (CRS) Application process that is required to access superannuation.
This Government operated CRS Program allows for Superannuation funds to be accessed for use by the Superannuant or a direct family member. SuperCare prepares the CRS Application on behalf of the Applicant. Upon completion, it is forwarded to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) for approval. Once approved, the Superannuation Fund releases the agreed funds directly into the Superannuants nominated account.
SuperCare was the first company to offer this Payment Option and its expertise ensures that CRS Applicants receive a premium service in a safe, secure and timely manner. To guarantee the success of its service, SuperCare operates on a 'no approval no fee' basis. The SuperCare team is both responsive and adaptive to each application and, in doing so, exceeds industry standards. All applications are assessed under and comply with the Superannuation Industry (SUPERVISION) (SIS Regs) REGULATIONS 1994-REG 6.19A.
Contact SuperCare for further information about the types of weight loss surgery for which Superannuation funds can be accessed and for an initial assessment of your/your family member(s) eligibility.
